Most Effective Pre-Workout Supplements

There are many pre-workouts on the market containing a wide variety of ingredients. Many are hyped up and do nothing, while some are very effective and backed by scientific research. In this article, I will go over some of the most tried and true supplements to enhance your workouts.

1. Caffeine

Caffeine is the obvious choice that almost every quality pre-workout has. It stimulates the brain to make you feel more alert and focused. A major reason why drinking coffee, studying, and pulling all-nighters are related. The heightened sense of focus allows for a much more productive workout as well as giving a nice energy boost.

2. Creatine

Creatine is possibly the most tested supplement on the market and has shown to be effective time and time again. Average strength gains can range from 5-10% when creatine is used as a staple supplement. It enlarges muscles, increases strength, and allows the muscle to use more energy. All of that comes together to create a well-respected supplement.

3. Beta-Alanine

Beta-Alanine is an amino acid. It is highly effective in reducing the rate at which a muscle fatigues. Beta is the supplement that makes your skin feel tingly shortly after you take it. To date, the research shows that it greatly improves intense exercise that lasts from 1-4 minutes at a time.

There are many different pre-workouts on the market. It is important to read the ingredients list. If the supplement does not contain any of these ingredients, then the chances of it being effective are highly unlikely. Read, research, and repeat. Don’t waste money on some crappy pre-workout.
